Air Fryer Tortilla Chips

Crispy homemade snacks do not get easier than these Homemade Air Fryer Tortilla Chips. With just three simple ingredients, you can have fresh, golden chips ready in minutes, perfect for dipping into salsa, cheese sauce, or guacamole.

Homemade tortilla chips are noticeably better than store bought. They have a fresh, crunchy bite and warm flavor that you simply cannot get from a bag that has been sitting on a shelf.

While traditional chips are often deep fried for maximum flavor, that method can be messy and heavy. An air fryer makes it possible to enjoy that crispy texture without the oil splatter or extra grease. You still get that satisfying crunch, just in a cleaner and lighter way.

There is no need to deep fry when the air fryer delivers perfectly crisp, delicious tortilla chips in just minutes. Quick, simple, and made with only three ingredients, this is an easy snack recipe you will want to make again and again.

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 small tortillas corn or flour
  • olive oil cooking spray
  • coarse salt

Instructions

  1. Cut each tortilla into 6–8 equal wedges, similar to slicing a pizza.
  2. Lightly coat the pieces with cooking spray and sprinkle with coarse salt. Arrange them in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap.
  3. Air fry at 350°F for 3 minutes. Open the basket, flip the chips, lightly spray again with cooking spray, and add more salt if desired. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
  4. Remove from the basket and let them cool completely—they’ll continue to crisp up as they sit.

Notes

If you prefer to bake the chips, follow the same preparation steps. Arrange the tortilla pieces in a single layer on a foil-lined baking sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 7 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven, flip the chips, lightly spray again with cooking spray, and sprinkle with additional salt if desired. Return to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
