The Best and Easy Bread Pudding

When it comes to easy recipes, this Bread Pudding truly doesn’t get much simpler. Warmly spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, it works beautifully as either a cozy breakfast option or a classic dessert that everyone enjoys.

Easy Bread Pudding

This is a timeless, no-fuss dessert that always delivers. It comes together in just minutes and easily feeds a crowd, which makes it a favorite for holidays, family gatherings, and brunch menus. It’s the kind of recipe that feels comforting, familiar, and reliably delicious every single time.

After plenty of testing and tweaking over the years, this version has landed as a go-to favorite. The texture is just right, the flavor is balanced, and the process stays refreshingly straightforward. That’s exactly what earns it the title of The Best Bread Pudding.

One of the best things about this recipe is how accessible it is. There are no unusual ingredients or specialty items required—everything can be found right in the pantry or fridge. It’s simple enough that there’s really no reason not to make it when a quick, comforting dish is needed.

French bread is the top choice here, with a 1-pound loaf being the perfect amount. It creates the ideal balance between custardy softness and tender bread, which is exactly what makes bread pudding so satisfying.

That said, French bread isn’t always on hand—and that’s perfectly fine. While it’s preferred for its texture and versatility (and budget-friendly price), there are several other bread options that work just as well if needed.

If French bread isn’t available, this recipe is flexible enough to adapt, making it easy to whip up whenever the craving hits, no matter what bread happens to be in the kitchen.
