Really quick to make, only takes 30 minutes total time to be able to serve this Instant Pot Honey Garlic Chicken Recipe at your dinner table. This chicken is so tender and has a sweet honey garlic sauce that is so delicious.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 teaspoons cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup water
  • Sesame seeds & green onion for topping
  • Rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken in the bottom of the Instant Pot and season it generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the honey, soy sauce, onion, ketchup, oil, and garlic. Pour this sauce over the chicken, then secure the Instant Pot lid and set it to seal.
  3. Cook on the Meat setting, or on High Pressure for 15 minutes. When the time is up, do a quick release. Remove the chicken from the pot, leaving the sauce inside.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together 3 teaspoons of cornstarch with 1/4 cup of water, then pour the mixture into the Instant Pot. Stir it into the sauce, press the Sauté button, and cook for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces, return it to the pot, and toss to coat with the sauce. Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and green onions, then serve over rice.
